Birthday Girls!

Ok, you all know me, sometimes I can be good, and sometimes I can be BAD!!!!  Well, I have been a BAD daughter and daughter in law this month.  That is because my beautiful mom and beautiful mom in law have both had birthdays and I have their cards in my purse (or pocketbook) but I am TRYING to say purse, b/c it does sound more sophisticated!  As my five year old neighbor Adrianna tells me!  And  Colton is reading Junie B. Jones books and it sounds just like something she would say:)

So - I just want everyone that reads my blog to know - just like Kelly on KK - her thousands and my 5:) that I AM A LUCKY GIRL!!  I have the best mother and the best mil (that is blog for mother in law) in the world!

This lady has raised six kids!  That amazes me every day as I try to raise 1!!!

And look at her reward..... a couple of crazy grandsons:)   Daniel - stop jumping in front of the camera!  I am trying to take a picture of Grandma and her calm grandson:)
Oh, that is Colton jumping, not Daniel.... I get them confused:)  Both wild and crazy:)

Yes, she has been to Rincon, Ga for every birthday party Colton has had
except when I did it in the middle of the week!  So, she missed one out of seven!  What a grandmother!!!  Which doesn't even compare to how great of a mother she is!

I appreciate everything about my mom..... but I can't quit thinking about all the times she dropped EVERYTHING she was doing to rub my stomach when it hurt.....  And it hurt ALOT!!!1

And.... Colton's NANA!!  Let me just say this...she raised Rod and survived!  That is a miracle in itself:)  And, Colton loves his Nana!!!  This is the first day we arrived in CA this past summer.  Nana and Poohbah had sardines (I think) to feed to the fish in the lagoon outside their house.  Do you think Colton loved that??  Of course!!!  He tried to dump the whole bag the first day!

And she is a great camper and marshmallow roaster at Mineral King!  And she did not have a panic attack on the way there, unlike me:)

These two people raised Rod!  They need MEDALS!!!!  They are miracle workers!!!  I hope Rod and I can help mold the same character and values in Colton that we were both raised with!

Rod and I grew up worlds apart...... But in some ways, so much alike!!!  That is why I think we have always felt so connected....  If for no other reason, because we both have incredible mothers!!!!!  Thanks to both of you for all you have done for us and sorry that your slack daughter (and dil) didn't get cards off in time:)  I will TRY to do a better job next year!!!

Bohemian Rooftop

Rod and I went to the Bohemian Hotel last Friday night and had dinner.  This is their upstairs bar area that overlooks the Savannah River.  It was windy and chilly!  There were two older couples (probably my age, i just think that I am still young:) there and we all took pictures of each other.  Rod and I still act like tourists when we are in downtown Savannah.  It is just so beautiful there!

How gorgeous is this???

And.... it is right in my back yard!  (Not really, but CLOSE!)

This is outside the Bohemian!  Very pretty!

City Hall is absolutely gorgeous!  Especially at night!

Ok....  a few side notes...

Colton went to a spend the night party!  It was for Luke, who is in his class, and his mom owns the Learning Treehouse.  They took 5 boys to a hotel that had an indoor pool.  They swam, ate, had a suite to sleep in, ate waffles for breakfast and had a blast!  We had fun too:)

The Bohemian was built (or established???) by the same man that built the Mansion.  We went to the Mansion for Rod's Christmas party!  They are two of the most beautiful hotels you could ever see.  They have incredible artwork and everything about them is very "cultural or sophistocated".  I found out the man that owns both of these hotels is from Effingham County.  Someone told me he was just a "good ol' boy" from Effingham.  Well, he has got incredible vision and lots of money for a "Good Ole' Boy":)
